The Cotswolds very own giant cat, Prince Louis is on the road to recovery

A few weeks ago, we appealed to you to raise funds to save the sight of Prince Louis. Today, we bring you good news!

Louis, our four-year-old Maine Coon, arrived at the centre extremely unwell

Louis was wounded, dirty, and matted, he had pus in his eyes, cat flu symptoms, and a heart murmur.

Louis’s medical bills were so high, we had no option but to put out an emergency fundraising appeal in the hope that our supporters could help raise enough money to cover the costs of Louis’s extensive veterinary treatment.

We have been blown away by the support Prince Louis received and couldn’t wait to share the good news with you…

Prince Louis has had his operation and is on the road to recovery!

Mina Fuge- Cattery Lead said

“Due to the amazing generosity of our supporters, Louis has been able to receive the treatment and surgery he desperately needed and is now coming to the end of his recovery.

We are overwhelmed by the amount of support we have received for our giant boy Louis.

He is doing amazingly well, and the surgery could not have gone better.

Since Louis’s surgery has been completed, his eyes are wide open, clean, and healthy and he is able to see clearly without any discomfort.

Even though he arrived in our care in a bad way, he has always been such a happy fun-loving boy who wants nothing more than playtime and cuddles. We are so thankful for the support we have received for Louis, and know that he is also very appreciative of the love, kindness, and generosity shown to him by you, our supporters.” – Mina Fuge

These before and after photos of Louis, demonstrate how far he has come on in his journey to recovery and highlight the impact of community support for animals just like Louis in need of our help.

Thank you!
