We are very lucky to have received a generous £5,000 grant from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home! The money will be used to improve our on-site barn so it can be used as an enrichment area for our dogs. It will be somewhere we can let our dogs off lead safely and freely to enjoy agility equipment which will be great for some of our more energetic dogs. The grant will pay for new dog friendly flooring and equipment so that the space will be more functional than our existing concrete floor. Volunteers from St James’s Place Wealth Management will be visiting us in September to help clear out the barn and lay the floor tiles so watch this space for before and after photos. At present we do not have an undercover area where we can take the dogs if it’s heavily raining or extremely hot so this will be a welcome addition to our existing facilities. The space will also be available to hire out to local groups so if you, or someone you know would be interested in a regular large space then please get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org
Margaret Hulme, Grants Manager at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home said “We hope that this grant will help make a real difference to the lives of cats and dogs in the community. At Battersea we want to support rescues and shelters across the UK, not only by awarding funding but also by sharing the experiences and knowledge we have gained as an animal welfare charity that has been rescuing and rehoming animals for 158 years” Battersea Grants are a new initiative that aims to support smaller rescues and shelters by offering grants of between £3,000 and £15,000. This money will help organisations continue their great work with animals across the UK.
