Gorgeous Betty came into our care after needing emergency surgery to remove both of her eyes at just 6 years old. Unfortunately, Betty had glaucoma in both eyes which was left untreated. Betty now needs plenty of aftercare as well as some much needed TLC.
We want to thank our wonderful supporters for their donations and well wishes, and for the first class care provided by Vale Vets, Dursley as her eyes are healing really well.
Betty went straight into foster care as a kennel environment was not a good option for her. She needed to be watched closely while in recovery to ensure minimum chance of complications. Betty is now really thriving and has been adopted by her foster carers as they couldn't part with her. She is coping really well without her site and has a new lease of life in her new loving home.
We help hundreds of animals every year and each animal receives a health check, flea/worm/tick treatment, vaccinations, neutering and micro-chipping if needed. Many animals, like Betty need further treatment which is vital to their health. Our veterinary costs throughout 2019 were £70,000 and we rely entirely on donations from our shops and donations to pay these essential costs. If you would like to help support our charity and other animals like Betty you can CLICK HERE and it will take you to our secure donate page. If you would like to consider a regular donation this will help towards the cost of ongoing veterinary costs. A donation of just £5 each month will pay for one animal to receive a flea/tick/worm treatment.
