Eight Terriers Rescued From Appalling Conditions
Eight terriers were brought in to the care of the Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home last week after they had been found in appalling conditions inside a house in Oxfordshire.
The dogs were covered in faeces and kept in small rusty cages with soiled blankets and excrement all over the floor and walls. It is thought that they have spent their lives in cages, with very little room to move around or exhibit normal behaviour.
James Tubb, Deputy Operations Manager said “The dogs arrived at the Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home scared and nervous but the team are already starting to change the lives of these beautiful dogs and they are beginning to make friends, receiving lots of cuddles and getting plenty of TLC. We are so grateful to our supporters and the many animal lovers who have sent donations to help with the cost of caring for them and to help them to become healthy, happy dogs. All eight need veterinary treatment, as well as neutering, vaccination, treatment for dermatitis and fleas/ticks/worms. As we prepare them for their new families each of our little gang will be carefully assessed and supported by our team to ensure we find them perfect homes to spend the rest of the lives free from cruelty and suffering. Getting them back to healthy, happy little terriers will come at a significant financial cost and we are overwhelmed by the generosity of dog lovers from far and wide for their support. Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone who has donated or sent messages and well wishes”.
