Tazzy was bought into us as an unhealthy stray not too far away from the centre. She has been estimated by our vets to be around 3 years old. She's a beautiful girl and has taken to life in a warm, safe home until she is ready to look for her forever home when shes healthy.
When Tazzy came in we soon noticed that she was in need of emergency medical care. She had masses down her right ear which could be polyps or tumours.
Mark at Vale Vets Dursley was able to remove the external masses but she needed a further operation to remove the internal masses. Tazzy also needed her complete ear canal removed in her right ear.
We were quoted a minimum of £500 for her operation, not including any aftercare which may be needed. We put an appeal out to our supporters and within no time we had raised enough to pay for the operation and her aftercare. Tazzy is doing really well although she was having a little trouble with her blink reflex which is quite normal for such a big procedure. She is having around the clock care and eye drops every 4 hours until her blink reflex returns. She seems happy and is enjoying the extra fuss and cuddles.
Thank you again to all those who helped cover the cost of her treatment.
We have many animals like Tazzy coming into us needing medical care - be those stray or families that unfortunately have to sign over an animal as they can't afford the medical costs.
